NeSI: Behind the scenes
New Zealand eScience Infrastructure (NeSI) has been empowering New Zealand researchers for over 10 years. Numerous documents have been published, demonstrating the power of supercomputers NeSI runs, the variety of services and training programs NeSI provides, on the applications that we support but all this is a tip of the iceberg.
There are multiple teams behind the scenes that make all this happening. One of the core teams is the research support team. Not only does it provide multi-tiered assistance to the users but it also is very instrumental in every aspect of NeSI activity. How does the team coordinate applications, libraries, maximise computational resources utilisation, plan improvements, extensions and expansions?
The key to success is data the team collects on every aspect of the computational utilisation. We demonstrate what data we collect, how we analyse and display it, what instruments we use.
